In a wide bowl /small pan ,add 1 cup gram flour.
To this add ½ teaspoon turmeric powder , chilli powder , carom seeds, salt and pinch of asafoetida .
Add in chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, green chillies and coriander leaves.
Add ⅓-1/2 cup of water ,part by part .
Whisk well everything such that no lumps are formed.
Adjust water if needed , the batter should be thick spoon dropping consistency but not free flowing.
Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a tava/griddle /frying pan.
Dip in the bread slice in a batter, with help of spoon place coat the batter evenly with the batter. Don't keep bread slice inside the batter for long as it may turn soggy.
Place it on the hot tava , drizzle some oil on corners and top.
When the base becomes firm , flip and cook on other side.
Cook even on both sides till it looks golden brown, serve it along with coriander chutney and Tomato Ketchup.
