    About this recipe

Lemon Iced Tea is a basic usual iced tea where black tea is flavored with lemon juice and mint leaves. This sweet tea makes for a great non-alcoholic summer beverage.

Making this sweet iced tea at home is super easy and you can have completele control on the amount of sweetness according to your taste preferences.

You can make the lemon iced tea in advance and just assemble the iced tea when ready to serve. Once assembled, serve it immediately.

This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled. So make it in a large pitcher and refrigerate it .

Stays good upto 1 week in refrigerator, its great for summer parties to enjoy on a hot day. You can even freeze the tea and use it later.

Tea leaves – I have used loose black tea leaves (regular chai patti) but you can use green tea too. Loose tea can be easily replaced with tea bags.

Sugar – You can use any granulated sugar for sweetening , brown or reagular sugar will work fine. Sugar-free substitutes like stevia or honey also works well in this recipe. If using honey make sure to add it once tea cools down completely . Has nutritional value of honey losses if added into very hot water.

You can replace sugar with honey or maple syrup as well. Just don’t add it while the tea is cooking. Add it when the pan is off heat.

Lime juice – Increase or decrease the amount as per your liking. You can also use fresh lemon juice in place of lime juice.

Mint – Make it super refreshing by adding some fresh mint leaves.

    Variations

This is a basic lemon iced tea recipe , you make variations to this recipe by adding different fruit flavours .

Fruit flavours like Apple , Mango , Strawberry and any citrus fruits works really well with iced tea .

You can also add soda or sparkling water to make it more refreshing .

To make a adult treat , add a splash of vodka, tequila, or white rum .
