Ingredients
To make tasty Strawberry Lassi you just need 4 basic ingredients .
Strawberries – This lassi can be made using fresh or frozen strawberries. If using frozen strawberries, you can directly add them to the blender , There is no need to thaw them.
If using fresh berries, choose deep red coloured strawberries , as they are juicy and sweet. Do not pick light-colored strawberries, as they are often tangy to taste. Also , don't pick those with black patches and are soft to touch. Firm and red coloured strawberries are juicy and sweet in nature.
I buy strawberries in season and freeze them to use in my recipes thoughout the year. around the year .
Curds / Yogurt – Always use plain full-fat curds to make classic lassi or flavoured . Though i have used plain , thick , chilled curds in this recipe as an alternative you can also use strawberry flavored greek yogurt here.
Milk – Adding milk is optional , as it is used to thin down the lassi . If you have a thick lassi then you can skip using milk.
Sweetener – For lassi Sugar is the traditional sweetener but you can replace it with sugar free , stevia , honeyor maple syrup.
Flavouring - Though I alwaays prefer freshly pound cardamom powder , you can use rose water to flavour lassi
Others – To make the lassi extra creamy, you can replace milk with low fat cream.
Top Tip
Once after adding curds into strawberry puree , blend only for 30-60 seconds . Incase , if you continuously blend for few more minutes then you may end up getting butter.
